Inspiration: “I was born in Sicily, and there, a man is born an island within an island

—and remains so until his death, even when living far from his harsh native land,

surrounded by an immense and jealous sea.” — L. Pirandello

“Try to imagine Sicily as a great body emerging from the waves.

A body—that is to say, a structure.” — Gesualdo Bufalino
